All about blockchain – brought to you by world-class experts!

Blockchain is currently one of the hottest topics in the startup world, so this technology, the related changes and opportunities just must be addressed! Within the Blockchain programme block at this year's PODIM Conference, experts will talk about blockchain from various angles: technology, product use cases, new business models, ICOs, regulation and more. Some of the world-leading experts from the blockchain field are coming to PODIM on 15 and 16 May so if you're into blockchain, join us in Maribor!

The blockchain programme block is packed with amazing content, case studies, workshops and keynotes, brought to you by some of the best blockchain experts in the world!

We'll dive into the blockchain world right at the beginning of the second day of PODIM with a keynote by David Prais, chairman at Cofound.it, the platform that helps connect blockchain enthusiasts with teams that are building serious blockchain businesses. He will present his view on building fast-growing companies. Following his keynote, you will hear entrepreneurs' stories of how they used the blockchain technology to build successful global companies.

If you think art and blockchain couldn't possibly have anything in common, you couldn't be more wrong! Bernadine Bröcker Wieder, co-founder and CEO of Vastari, the largest online platform that facilitates exhibitions of art, science, history, and popular culture worldwide will reveal how Vastari is changing the art world with blockchain.

The second use case comes from the world of sports – founder and CEO of Sporty.co Marko Filej will share how the company is using blockchain technology to change the way young athletes are financed.

How does the first participatory, blockchain-driven healthcare network built on decentralising access to medical data work? You'll hear all about it from Vasja Bočko, the CEO and co-founder of Iryo.io.

Lastly, blockchain is making also a huge difference in the world of charity and social impact projects. Arnaud Saint-Paul, executive chairman of the Give Foundation, will share how the technology is used to help people in need.

We will continue with a panel discussion with renowned guests on what can we expect from the blockchain revolution. As someone who helps blockchain startups on their way to success, David Prais of the Cofound.it platform will give an invaluable overview of the technology trends. Letitia Seglah, a FinTech, RegTech and blockchain expert from the Startup Manufactory, will provide insight into how blockchain is changing the FinTech world.

We will learn about the regulatory frameworks and policies to regulate and encourage further application of blockchain technology from Pierre Marro, the policy officer at the European Commision's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), and Nejc Novak from the Novak Law firm, whose specialty is also regulatory framework of blockchain solutions. Arnaud Saint-Paul from the Give Foundation will present a view on using the technology in the non-profit sector.

Alexandre Massart, a renowned investor, co-founder and managing director of Blend Ventures, will host the panel.

In the second part of the blockchain programme block – the Blockchain academy – we'll try to share as much practical advice and knowledge as possible.

In the first keynote of the academy, Muhamed Turkanović, assistant professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Maribor, will provide detailed insight into the blockchain technology itself. This will be followed by an overview of the regulatory framework, presented by Pierre Marro, the policy officer at the European Commision's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT). You will learn all about the legal structure and funding from Nejc Novak from the Novak Law firm, who is an expert in the regulatory framework of blockchain solutions. In the last keynote, Alexandre Massart from Blend Ventures will talk about different business models in blockchain.

The blockchain academy will be hosted by Jakob Gajšek, head of venture relations at the ABC Accelerator.

As usual, we won't stop at the theoretical part! We are also preparing a blockchain workshop! Iztok Hočevar and Matjaž Slak from Cofound.it will help you test if you are ICO ready.
